Diversity for Students

Why is Diversity Important for Students?

"Examining and understanding issues related to diversity are important because the university, as an institution, is susceptible to systems of gender, class, and racial privilege. Learning where each of us resides in these hierarchical systems, and the way our role influences others, allows us to deconstruct our closely held prejudices and stereotypes in order to create an atmosphere that is mutually respectful and conducive to learning."
