The Advancing Queer Student Education and Social Success Mentoring Program is a mentoring program that connects LGBTQ+ students to faculty and staff mentors. This program will focus on professional development, connection to resources and community building. Students will gain professional skills through an LGBTQ+ lens and learn how to navigate having LGBTQ+ related experience on their resumes, coming out or remaining closeted during the hiring process, and negotiating LGBTQ+ identities in the workplace and on the job market. Students will be connected to a network of LGBTQ+ professionals at IUPUI and within the Indianapolis community. Students will experience a sense of belonging to IUPUI as LGBTQ+ individuals and become engaged alumni.
This project is supported in part by the IUPUI Welcoming Campus Innovation Fund and advances the goals of IUPUI's Welcoming Campus Initiative - welcoming.iupui.edu
