Celebrating that #WeAreIUPUI

Each year, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at IUPUI and in Indiana at the Indy Pride Festival.

This year’s Indy Pride celebration is on Saturday, June 10 at Military Park, and we are so excited to participate in the parade and festival again this year. If you are interested in walking in the parade or attending the festival, see the information below.

The Festival runs from 11 am -11 pm, and the general admission tickets are $10 + $1.34 service fee.

Cadillac Barbie Pride Parade:

We are proud to walk in the Cadillac Barbie Pride Parade, which is named after Gary Brackett’s drag persona. Mr. Brackett was the president of Indy Pride Inc. and has worked for decades with The Bag Ladies - the first HIV/AIDS fundraising organization in the USA. As a former IUPUI employee and a huge contributor to the IUPUI LGBTQ+ community, we are proud to call Mr. Brackett family.

Friends, families, chosen families, partners, spouses, and children - all are welcome to walk with us in the parade!

The parade route is close to 1.5 miles long, and we will be walking the route. We will need to be lined up for the route by 8:18 am Zone B - 924 N College Avenue. The parade will start at 10:00 am without delays. If you are interested in joining the parade and celebrating the LGBTQ+ Community at IUPUI, register using the link below.

Register for Parade

**We do want to emphasize that registration is required due to the IU Safety guidelines and the need for signed waivers for all participants.

As we get closer to Pride Festival, we will send out further updates regarding shirt pick-up, waivers, and Pride Festival.

We are also excited to have a booth at the Indy Pride Festival where you can learn about becoming a student, working at IUPUI, getting involved as an alumnus and more. You can also learn about LGBTQ+ resources at IUPUI and get more information about our LGBTQ+ organizations on campus.
