The IUPUI Asian Student Union (ASU) is hosting the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Celebration Dinner and your attendance is an essential part of this year’s success. We cordially invite you to join us for an evening of cultural awareness and an opportunity to network with organizations and individuals involved in the Asian and Asian American community. This year's dinner will be held on Sunday, April 14th at The Crane Bay (551 W. Merrill St.). Doors will open at 5:30pm and the event with start at 6:00pm.
By honoring the Asian-Pacific American (APA) community, we are charing onwards with this important tradition of building stronger campus and community partnerships and networks. The mission behind this year's dinner is to honor and recognize our cultural roots, while also celebrating our unique and individual journeys in America by introducing this year's theme of "Our Journeys Evolve: The Soul of Our Identity." Our hope for this event is to foster a greater sense of pride in our identity and unity within the growing Asian and Asian American community at IUPUI.
It is with great excitement that we welcome Steven Lim as our keynote speaker this year! Lim is a Chinese-Malay Midwest native who is an Executive Producer and host of Buzzfeed's viral Worth It series. Graduating in 2012 from Ohio State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Lim has become a recognized YouTube icon whose work with Buzzfeed has helped other APA individuals not only break out into the entertainment industry, but also break common stereotypes about Asians and Asian Americans.
With your support, we can make this a successful event. Your contributions can continue this tradition of celebrating the APA community in the heart of Indianapolis. Attached is a list of the various sponsorship packages available to you. If you would like to contribute without the purchase of a sponsorship package, donations are also welcome and appreciated. Contributions to this non-profit dinner are an essential part of what we are trying to accomplish as an organization and community. Without your support, none of this can happen.
Furthermore, we would like to make this event as accessible for as many students as possible to spread awareness of cultural diversity on our campus. Donors who purchase sponsorship packages may request that the tables purchased be donated to students. You or your organization may also choose to help sponsor a student table or tables.
