Peer Educators

Interested in being a Multicultural Peer Educator?

Main Responsibilities Include:

  •        Facilitation: Workshops and presentations on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  •        Professional Development: Facilitation and research training on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Position Requirements:

  • Actively participate in continuous weekly training sessions.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Research issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Attend the IUPUI Social Justice Symposium on April 8, 2017.
  • Attend the Peer Education Institute prior to the start of the fall 2017 Semester.
  • Enroll in or have graduated from the Multicultural Leadership Empowerment Program.
  • Potentially enroll in a Mentoring class (paid for and accounted for in your work hours).
  • Commit 8-10 hours/week.

Position Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA.
  • Be a currently enrolled degree seeking student at IUPUI.
  • Be in good academic and behavioral standing with IUPUI.
  • Possess a strong desire to learn and teach others about issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with peers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and social skills.

Position Benefits:

  • $2,500 annual scholarship.
  • Strengthen knowledge, awareness, and skills on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Develop research and facilitation skills.

  • Informational Sessions: Feb 13 & Feb 14, 4:30 pm @ the Multicultural Center UC 115K
  • Applications Open: February 13
  • Application Deadline: February 24
  • Application Review: February 27-28
  • Interview Invitation: March 1
  • Interviews: March 6, 7, and 8
  • Selections: March 9
  • Selections Announcement: March 10
