Sarah Stalter Long, M.A., serves as the Coordinator for Social Justice Education at IUPUI where she oversees the large scale programs Tunnel of Oppression and the Social Justice Symposium. Prior to her current position, Sarah was the Graduate Assistant for Social Justice Education for two years; during which she served as lead advisor to the Social Justice Scholars and was instrumental in expanding Tunnel of Oppression.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Ohio University and a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from IUPUI with an emphasis in educational programming. During her time as a graduate student, Sarah helped plan the city wide programs for the exhibit States of Incarceration, as well as volunteered/ interned at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art and the Indianapolis Zoo. Sarah’s vision is to use her platform as an emerging professional to advocate for equity among individuals, create programs for the community to understand themselves, and provide spaces for others to learn about history and art to affect change. Sarah’s core values are leadership, collaboration, authenticity, equity and civic engagement.
